Practical info
We want to make your stay as easy and smooth as possible. Here's useful information before you arrive.
Check-in and check-out
Check-in from 16:00 and check-out by 11:00. You can arrive whenever it suits you within the check-in window. Before arrival you'll receive an email and SMS with everything you need for check-in and check-out.
Early check-in and late check-out
Need a bit more flexibility? Early check-in from 13:00 and late check-out until 14:00 cost NOK 200 per stay. Availability must be arranged in advance.
Pets
Pets are welcome at Hovstø. Surcharge for stays with pets is NOK 200 per stay.
Shared facilities
From 1 June, all guests have access to new and upgraded shared areas in the main house: a large communal kitchen for self-catering, a shared lounge, and a games corner for both children and adults.
Self-service kiosk
During the summer we open our self-service kiosk where you can buy snacks, drinks and small essentials for your stay.
Parking and WiFi
Free parking is available right next to the accommodation, with easy access to all cabins and rooms. We also offer free WiFi to all guests.
Outdoor area
From 1 June you have access to our outdoor area with pergola, lounge seating and outdoor grill, free for guests to use.

Booking and payment
Booking and payment
Booking a stay at Hovstø Cabins & Rooms is binding once the reservation is confirmed and payment has been completed according to the chosen payment method. All prices are quoted in Norwegian kroner (NOK) and include applicable taxes unless otherwise stated.
Cancellation and changes
Cancellation terms follow the booking option and rate chosen at the time of reservation. Any changes or cancellations must be made in writing or via the booking system. No refund is given in case of no-show without cancellation.
House rules
We ask all guests to be considerate of others and respect peace and order on the premises. Damage to interiors or buildings caused by negligence or misuse may be charged to the guest.
Liability
Hovstø Cabins & Rooms is not liable for loss, damage or theft of guests' belongings during the stay.
Right of withdrawal
The right of withdrawal does not apply to the purchase of accommodation services, cf. the Norwegian Right of Withdrawal Act § 22.
Force majeure
Hovstø Cabins & Rooms cannot be held responsible for circumstances beyond our control that make it impossible or unreasonably difficult to carry out the stay, including natural events, power outages, government regulations or other extraordinary circumstances.
Privacy policy
At Hovstø Cabins & Rooms we take privacy seriously and process personal data in line with applicable privacy legislation (GDPR).
What information do we collect?
When you book a stay or contact us we may collect:
- name
- phone number
- email address
- booking information
- payment information (via a third-party payment provider)
What do we use the information for?
We use the information to:
- administer bookings and stays
- send practical information before and after stays
- handle payments
- respond to enquiries
- meet legal requirements related to accounting and operations
Sharing of information
We only share necessary information with partners that provide booking, payment or operational systems on our behalf. We never sell personal data.
Storage
Personal data is stored only as long as necessary for the purpose, or as required by law.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- access the information we hold about you
- have inaccurate information corrected
- have information deleted where the law allows it
- object to the processing of personal data
