About Hovstø

Hovstø has welcomed travellers, commuters and festival guests since the 1960s. Thanks to its proximity to Dyrskuplassen, it has been a natural choice for visitors through generations — many of them returning year after year.

The area

Seljord is known for beautiful nature, a lively rural community and strong traditions. Centrally located in the heart of Telemark, it is a natural junction between east and west — and a great starting point to explore the region. From Hovstø it's a short drive to central Seljord, Dyrskuplassen and around 30 minutes to Bø Sommarland, one of Norway's largest family attractions. Throughout the year Seljord hosts events, festivals and markets that gather visitors from across the country. The best known is Dyrsku'n, but the area also offers horse shows, concerts and cultural experiences for much of the year. With Hovstø as your base, you stay close to the action — with calm and nature right outside your door.
